Every custom piece begins with a conversation
The Process
Commissioning a piece of furniture is a collaborative journey. I work closely with each client to understand how they live, what they need, and what moves them — then translate that into something tangible, lasting, and uniquely theirs.
It starts with a conversation — about your space, how you use it, what you're drawn to, and what problem the piece needs to solve. Share images, sketches, or just ideas. There's no wrong way to begin. This initial consultation is free and without obligation.
From our conversation, I develop design concepts — sketches, material samples, and proportional studies that bring the idea into focus. We'll refine together until the design feels right. This phase requires a one-time $800 design deposit, reflecting up to a week of dedicated design work including detailed proposals with materials, dimensions, and timeline. If you move forward with the piece, the design deposit is applied in full toward the final price.
With the design finalized, the making begins. I share progress photos along the way so you can see your piece come to life. Every detail is carefully considered and crafted by hand. This is where unscalable techniques meet the patience they require.
The finished piece is carefully delivered and installed in your space. For local clients in the Portland area, I handle delivery personally. For pieces shipping further, I work with specialized fine art and furniture shippers to ensure safe transit.
What to Expect
Most commissions take 3–6 months from design approval to delivery, depending on complexity. I'll provide a specific timeline during the design phase.
Each piece is priced individually based on materials, complexity, and scale. I provide detailed proposals before any commitment. A deposit secures your place in the build schedule.
Tell me about your space and what you're envisioning. Every great piece starts with a simple conversation.
